BYBORRE explores the power of simplicity for the introduction of their 10th Edition™
In a first preview of its Edition10™, Dutch textile innovation company BYBORRE showcases its upcoming Edition of advanced knitted textiles and garments.
For this Edition the BYBORRE team had the honor to work with the illustrations of Dutch icon Dick Bruna. Known the world over as the creator of Miffy, Bruna was regarded as “the genius of simplicity” and excelled in capturing the essence of a character or story with a few lines and a small range of colors.
Using the BYBORRE Create tool, the creative team took that same approach when developing textiles for this Edition. Taking Bruna’s iconic illustrations and through playing with the scale of the artwork and applying a limited palette of colours, giving their own spin on Dick Bruna’s simplicity. The resulting range of refined textiles celebrate Dick Bruna's recognizable linework and also serve to highlight how the Create tool puts the power to go from artwork to a textile back into the hands of the creator.
A focus on precision and simplicity was also kept top of mind when designing and developing the garments for this Edition. Starting with a look back at classic BYBORRE styles from the past 10 Editions, and updating and refining them through the use of a sophisticated palette and pared down details to elevate them above their performance roots. This approach resulted in the most elegant Edition yet.
The collection sees the return of key pieces from previous Editions like the Open Back Vest, Layer Shirt and A-Type Jacket, as well as the latest step in the continuous evolution of staples like the Suit Jacket, Pants and Button Tee, all executed in the latest iterations of iconic BYBORRE Textiles such as the 3D™, AO2™ and a particularly elevated version of the O2L™. Additional focus was put into the development of accessories, resulting in the introduction of, among others, a versatile everyday bag done in 3D™, a FIDLOCK equipped Keycord and a classic 5-Panel camp cap.
Edition10™ is set to release to retailers and consumers in the Spring of 2022, in the meantime head over to the BYBORRE website to learn more about the company’s latest textile innovations and developments, and look out for its soon to be dropped Edition9™.

WHEN
The introduction period starts the 15th of July and runs until the 6th of August 2021. If you are a retailer, brand or member of the press you can book your slot to be virtually introduced to this Edition and its latest textile innovations.The Edition will be available in stores during Spring Summer 2022.
