AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands BYBORRE, the Amsterdam-based textile innovation company, has been awarded the title of Coolest Dutch Brand 2024 by FONK Magazine. The annual award celebrates brands that lead with purpose, creativity, and sustainability — and are actively reshaping their industries from within.
A jury of 60 creatives and strategists selected BYBORRE from a shortlist of twelve nominees. The recognition highlights BYBORRE’s system-first approach to responsible textile production — combining on-demand manufacturing, material traceability, and digital design tools into a platform that empowers creators across fashion, interiors, and mobility.
Over the past decade, BYBORRE has emerged as a pioneering platform—collaborating with partners like Nike, Adidas, BMW Group, Rapha, and The Social Hub—while working to simplify and open up the textile supply chain through more accessible, responsible design solutions. With its latest digital tool, the company delivers a new chapter in textile design—where customization is intuitive, seamless, and just a click away. This launch marks a shift toward a future where creating highly personal, made-to-order knitted textiles is simple, clear, and within reach.
Rather than follow the industry’s supply-first model, BYBORRE has built a system designed around creative control and responsible production — where every textile is made to order, and every input is traceable from yarn to finished product. It’s an alternative to the waste-heavy status quo, offering a practical vision for how textiles can be produced with both innovation and purpose.
As demand for transparency and customization grows, especially in architecture and interior design, BYBORRE continues to scale its platform. But real transformation doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens when brands, designers, and suppliers come together to build better systems. This award is a signal that that momentum is growing — and that the mission matters.
About BYBORRE®
BYBORRE is a textile company producing innovative knitted textiles for a wide range of applications. What sets them apart is their mission to rethink not just textiles, but the entire way the industry works — with responsibility at its core.
After years of leading technical innovation and developing a striking and instantly recognizable textile language, BYBORRE made a radical move: they opened their platform, giving creators across industries direct access to design their own textiles — a decisive break from the closed, rigid systems that have long defined the industry.
They also took a clear ethical stand: all textiles are produced on-demand, directly tackling the massive environmental impact of overproduction. Through the Textile Passport, every step of the process is fully transparent and traceable — setting a new benchmark for accountability in the textile world.
BYBORRE’s textiles gained immediate international recognition — first in the fashion and sportswear industry, and later across interior architecture, automotive, and lifestyle sectors. Their future-forward approach attracted collaborations with leading brands such as Nike, the Kering Group, BMW Group, Apple TV, Rapha, Gore-Tex, Adidas, McLaren, RipCurl, Natuzzi, The Social Hub, among others.
